Details confirmed: protesters to follow Trump during state visit

Protesters will gather on 4 June from 11am in Trafalgar Square to demonstrate against Trump’s state visit. Together Against Trump has confirmed the details today.

Huge numbers are expected to join the action in London and to take part in regional activities around the UK.

Themed areas will feature throughout the protest with climate justice, migrants’ rights, racism and misogyny among them. Activists plan to ‘follow Trump’ by marching from Trafalgar Square to nearby locations depending on the details of Trump’s itinerary for the day.

The Stop Trump Coalition said: “This is about sending a strong message that people in the UK don’t accept the divisive right-wing policies that Trump stands for and that inviting him for a state visit is totally inappropriate.”

Stand Up To Trump said: “Trump is a warmonger who backs the far right internationally. Only 24% of Londoners support the visit. Tens of thousands of us will be marching to wherever he is.”
